The Warriors Against Chordoma Golf Tournament and Hoops Challenge were established in 2019 to honor the memory of a courageous fighter, husband, friend, brother, and son—Chuck Mainey. 

 

Our 2022 event will focus again on the rare form of cancer - Chordoma. The Chordoma Foundation was created to support research for improved therapies, connect patients with research studies and qualified therapists and to foster methods to drive better patient care. Due to the lingering pandemic, we will not be holding the Hoops Challenge in 2022.

 

Pinnacle Charities is partnering with the Foundation to reach potential event participants and to promote donations for our events. The 2019 Warriors Against Chordoma Golf Tournament and Hoops Challenge raised a combined $20,000 for the Chordoma Foundation, which was the largest fundraiser for the foundation in Texas, and one of the largest first fundraisers ever held for them!

 

According to Josh Sommer, Executive Director of the Chordoma Foundation:

 "2021 was by far our most pivotal year yet: Our supporters helped us launch a new chordoma clinical trial, identify several drugs that stop the growth of chordoma in mice, and make breathtaking progress toward drugs that target chordoma's Achilles' heel, brachyury. At the same time, we're providing more resources than ever to patients and families as they navigate this disease. With continued support, 2022 will be a major turning point in our quest for better treatments. Warriors Against Chordoma continues to make an enormous difference for our shared mission, and we're tremendously grateful for your commitment."
